DESPERATE AFFAIR IN A RESTAURANT. (Times—Sydney Sun Special Cables.) Received 5.30 p.m., Feb. 13. NEW YORK, February 13. Seven mien entered the Tripole restaurant, in the Italian quarter, and held up the diners. A knife was held at each throat while the pockets were cleaned. The robbers took rings and scarf "pins and emptied the cash registers, making a haul of £800. The police disturbed the desperadoes, who sought to escape. A guest seized one, but was stabbed in the abdomen, the wound probably being mortal. The police made three arrests.
