FIRE AT MELBOURNE.
(United Press Association.—Copyright.» MELBOURNE, Dec. 15. A fire did £1000 worth of damage at Brooks, Robinson and Company's, glass merchants. South Melbourne! Tile roof of Scritt and Son's coal stores got alight, but the contents were unharmed. The caretaker's cottage was destroyed, but the occupants escaped, though only in their night attire and by climbing on to a shed and thence over a brick wall.'
