DARGAVILLE, Dec 13

John Allen, a tanner of Kirikop'uni, was shot while examining firearms at the store, the bullet penetrating his lung. A man named Hanson was arrested, brought before the Court and remnnded for eight rlavs on the charge cf shooting Allen. Bail was refused.

Tho bullet pierced Allen's body above the hea.rt, travelled through the body and became embedded in the wall of tho chest. The latest reports are that A lon, who is in the hospital, has slightly i.mi roved and hopes are entertained of his recovery.
