OFFICIAL PROGRESS REPORT
SATISFACTORY HEADWAY
Mr. C. J. McKenzie, resident Engineer for the Public Works Department, reported as folloAvs on the Dublin Street bridge to the Borough Council for the period ending 30th September, 1913: — All cylinders have been sunk to the full depth. Piers D. E. F. G. H. I. and J. arc completed up to bed-plate leA'el, and at pier C. about 100 c. yds. of the Avail above water, and at Pier B. about 58 c. yds. of the Ai-all have been built. The trusses for spans H. I. and J. are in position and the troughing I. J. is in position and about half of it rivetted up. The trusses of span G- H. are completed but not yet in position; sufficient steel work is ready for about four spans. Fair progress should noAv be made with the erection of the superstructure as the bulk of the steel has been prepared. The contrac--01 is cleaning and painting the ironwork that has not yet been worked, as the salt «air was beginning to rust it. There are on an average 31 men at work.
