At the Supreme Court to-day only throe criminal cases were called, and al' were disnosed of.

A charge of criminal assault on an infant girl resulted in acquittal. Three young men, brothers, were charged with unlawful mischief by injuring q. motorcar, used without permission, and were also acquitted. They remain civilly liable. Walter Shaw, solicitor, wlio pleaded guilty to ten charges of abuse of trusts, the total of the sums involved being £6700, and one charge of false^pretences, was sentenced to three years. It was stated that Shaw's total liabilities amounted to about £50,000. Hi?! assets were not fuily ascertained, but will probably be equal to between 2s 6d f.nd ssj- in the £.
