AUCKLAInTD, September 13. A largely signed requisition, with two hundred signatures including representatives of local bodies, commercial and professional men, was presented to the Mayor, requesting him to convene a public meeting to consider the administration of justice in the Supreme Court in this district. The Mayor stated that he was impressed with the standing of the petitioners in the community. He would consider the request, and would {rive his answer on Tuesday. Personii'lv. he thought the legal profession should express an opinion in the matter one way or the other, and added, "An opinion from the Law Society would be most helpful to myself as Mayor and to the rest of the community in coming to a decision upon such important matters as the administration of justice."
The Auckland Law Society meets on Monday evening to consider the subject matter of the requisition.
