N.Z. LADIES' CHAMPIONSHIPS

NAPIER, September 12. The nineteenth championship tourney of the New Zealand Ladies' Golf Clubs opened at Waiohiki yesterday. The weather was beautifully fine in the early part of the day, but showers fell during the afternoon. Details tof yesterday's scoring in the championship match, first heat, are as follow.: —
Miss Bell (Wellington) beat Miss Dormer (Poverty Bay). 4 up and 2 to play; Miss Alison (Auckland) beat Miss Sylvia Abraham (Manawatu), 4 up and 3 to play; Mrs. Slack (Manawatu) beat Mrs. Bidwill (Wellington), 2 up and 1 to play; Miss (M. Gorrie (Auckland) beat Miss Harris (Hagley) 1 up; Mrs. Ronald Orbell (North Otago) beat Mrs. Bicknell (Greytown), -2 up and 1 to play; Miss W. Cotter (Auckland) beat Mrs. Maitland (Hastings), 1 up; Miss E. Robinson (Masterton) beat Mrs. Cato (Hastings), 7 up_ and 6to play; Miss Cowp"er (Wanganui) beat Miss HartsiJl (Darinevirke), 2 up and Ito play; Miss B. Hindmarsh (Napier) beat Miss E. Baird (Hastings), 3 up and 2 to play. Heavy rain fell during last night, but the weather cleared this morning.
