Premier Botha, at a Standerton meeting, said that while they were building .up South Africa, they should not adopt an attitude of hostility towards Britain. He denied that he intended to get the Union's naval policy from England. He only proposed to consult Britain regarding the interests of Simonstown in order to maintain the present amicable position.
