Tho Point-to-Point Steeplechase under the auspices of the Egmont-War-ganui Hunt, held at Mr. Kennedy's ("Buenos Ay res"), Moumahaki. on Saturday, provided a very fine afternoon's sport. Tho ■weather was disagreeable, heavy, rain falling during tho :aftornoon. Tho " gate" produced £9 10s., which showed -a pood attendance, because ladies and -members of the hunt v.oro admitted free. Thn ground was somewhat greasy and holding, but the jnmning was good, that seen in the chief event being first class. The mnnacoment of the sport was good. Tarpot led over the first fence, but after clearing the second with SinpJe File, war, <lispLaccd and wont to tho rear, fiinglo File, maintained the lend, but co?Yiing back over tho road it was seen tint Utilit" was running strong. At tho barbed fence Gordon easily took his mount to the front, and "won comfortably by several lengths, Argo a oouplo of lengths away from tho second horse. Tarpot fell at the last hedge. Elackboy went to the lead at the start, closely followed by Ingenkender and Duchess. At the first fence Sir Single's rider came off, but a bigger surprise awaited the spectators-at fie next hedge, whore Ingenkender baulked, with tho result tbsit three horses came down, leaving only Blackboy and Tip Toes in tho race. * After some trouble, Mr. Dalton again mounted and went in pursuit, but had too much to mako up, although he ran a good third. Blackboy wa3 never headed. Time, 10.50. FARMERS' STEEPLECHASE. Minimum weight 12.0. Distance 2£ miles. For Bushy Park Challenge Cun (don- . ated by Mr. G. F. Moore), andtrophy , valuo £3 3s. Paterson's brg WELSHMAN, aged (Mr. S. Mcßae) *3 Tauhiri also started. The race was a good one. Dugald was first away, but at the road jil-ip w-;..s headed by Loopline. At J.e barbed fenco Welshman moved up and 'both horses cleared together. L'wp.linc's condition told, and he finishe I a leader by several lengths. Welshman two lengths away from tho second horse.
