NOT A JOKE.

At least one instance has been reported to the Health Officers of unvaccinated Maoris in tho North Auckland district travelling upon a certificate borrowed from vaccinated friends. ''The Department considers this practice to be very ill-judgou on the part of ignorant or designing Maoris," said Dr. Frengley, in discussing the matter. "If such actions continue thero is just the likelihood that still more drastic measures will 'be imposed upon the whole population shpuld the epidemic make itself more manifest. Instead, therefore, of persons who hear of such cases enjoying them as a joke against tho Department, it would be well for them to look upon them as very serious in their own interests and in those of tho people of Auckland generally."
