FIREMAN FALLS OFF ENGINE

(Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, July 21. A fireman named William Champion, 23 years, was seen lying unconscious by tho side of the railway line by passengers on the incoming Rotorua express near Remuera station this evening. The matter was reported to the police at Newmarket. They went out and brought him to the hospital. He is .suffering from a fractured skull, and his condition is critical. He left Auckland on the 4-25 p.m. train to Hamilton, and it is surmised fell off tho engine. Tho locomotive driver reported at jthe next station, tho disappearance of his fii'^maa.
