ROYAL PICTURES

"IN THE SPRINGTIME }0F LIFE."

\ Tho many picture-goers who were fortunate enough to see "Alone in Paris," nocked along in their hundreds to thd Opera House last night to see another picture story by the " samw author. This new picture is "In the Springtime of Life." This picture resembles, to a certain extent, "Alono in Paris," but it is.a more pdwerful story. This latest dTjarontfb pi|cture ban proved a great success on the Continent^ and there is every prospect of it being as big a, draw here as it ha 3 been elsewhere. The plot deals -with tho child traffic in the great cities, and is a striking example of the manner in which children are exploited by rogues through the agency of an alleged school for beggars. Three thousand four hundred feet in length, and beautifully coloured, this picture is an enthralling one, and was received last night by -a -much impressed audience. Yet another picture of H.M.S. New Zealand was screened, this time the battleship being shown at Auckland: The • film shows .the!" Dreadnought /approaching tho entrance; the landing : and speechifying of th(v..Captain, and Maoris giving hakas of welcome, the visit of the Governor,, and • the ship illuminated, thi.i.las"t scene being a splendid one? The Royal Orchestra was. again to the foro- with its choicely rendered musical items. Tho mvfcgr.anime will bo again shown to-nigh,t. -
