The thieves.are foiled by the officer, who recovers quick*ly, and a second 'atempt to gain the treaty fails by a mistake. The attempts are then directed against the count He is attacked, but is saved by a trusty (sailor," land ■ the i?J I4implarta,nt treaty is preserved.
