Lord Alfred Douglas, who a few days since .was figuring so prominently m ihajf libel action against the "Times" Book Club, has just been proceeded against himself for libel. The charge against him was ono of having criminally libelled his father-m law, - the defanvatory statements concerning whom ' were made in ' certain telegrams and postcards sent to him by the defendant. ' • • . Lord- Alfred was found guilty, but 'upon promising not to offend again "ho was bound over to come up fox' judg mont if within a certain period he i& required to do so.
, Lord Alfred Douglas" is the son-in-law of' Colonel F. H. Custance, former', lylieuieii'ant-colonel in .the Grenadier Guards,' whose daughter Olive ho married in ■1902.
