Yesterday morning we reported that th-s tender of Mr. John Jones (£3,383 9s Del, plus £40 extra for granite) hud been accented for the erection in Wanganui or a new Public Trust Ofiice. This morning we aro able tv publish "an illustration of the front elevations (reproduced from tho architect's taawings/. and to give in addition a brief description of what the nevr building is to be. The site chosen is on tho corner of Market Squo.ro ar.d Campbell Place, to which the building will have a frontage of 60ft» and 50fL. respectively. Reinfarced' concrete is to bo used throughout, the floors and roofing being of tho same construction, so that there will be absolutely nothing!"to burn except tho fittings. The architect (Mr. T. H. Battle) has based his design for the frontages on the renaissance style, enriched with Cormthiau capitals and columiis, those adorning the main entrance being of Corromandcl granite. Tho ground floor v:ill consist of a suite of cilices for tho Deputy Trustee and his staff, and will compriso a large public office, the manager's room, a room for the typists, a store-room, etrong-room^ and tho Ksual lavatories, etc. Upstairs there wili bo four large offices-- two strong . rooms, and the customary appointments of a. well-equipped building.
