100 MILES ROAD RACE
«Tho Victorian Cycle Traders' annual 100 miles road race will be held thia year in July, much earlier than usual, as it is quite possible that there will bo quite a number of largo road races this season now that the question of control has been .settled. Two tyre companies in Melbourne intend holding large road races, .and it as more than likely that the great "Warrnambool" will be again held this year. The same course as previously will lie .adhered to for this year's 100 miles road race, with perhaps a deviation to Kyneton. The route will be from North Essendon to Lanceficld, across to Woodend, Carlsruhe, and probably Kyneton, finishing at the starting point. Road racing is fast becoming popular, and the promoters anticipate a record entry. The prize list is not yet com plete, but will be equally as valuable as last year's. The nret prize of £30 has a.gain been promised by the Birmingham Small Arms Co., and the usual .special prizes will be given.
The Road Board scheme propounded during the trouble- last year with the controlling bodies has 6ineo been put into effect, with good results, arid the cycle traders, at their first meeting, decided in favour of the Road Board.
This year the race will therefore be under the patronage of thio Road Board and will be governed by the rules of the League of Victorian Wheelmen. Entry forms will be issued to all States later. Information may be hod from the hon. secretary, G. Seggie, Australian Buildings, Melbourne.
