As a result of complaints about -examinations imposed under tho new rejgu kit ions on detectives and constables desiring to qualify for promtion, the Commissioner (.Mr Cullen) stated today that although such examinations would not entail more than was asked from a, fifth or sixth standard boy, the authorities have decided' on .a step to facilitate .and encourage members of - tho foroo to prepare for advancement. * They Lave arranged with an experienced •educational coach to teach by correspondence ail candidates who contemplate sitting for tho September-exami-nations'under the regulations.
