"THE BLUE BIRD."
Unquestionably one of the most important theatrical events which has yet -been toured tfirough the Dominion, and 0n.9 for which" the public of New Zealand should bo grateful for getting tho opportunity of witnessing, is Maieterlinck's delightfully fascinating fairy pantomime, "Tho Blue Bird," which lis to be staged hereby tho J. O. Williamson, Ltd., management on Monday night next. It is gratifying to learn that once again New Zealanders are showing how well they can appreciate the higher form of dramatic art, as up ;to the present Maeterlinck's play is attracting 3'eeord attendances everywhere.! The management have, arranged to give prizes for essays on "Tho Blue Bird,"as follows:—Over 16 years £3 3s.i' 12 ...to 16 years £3 35., under 12 years £l,ls. Altogether there are over 100 {travel' ing members in "Tho Blue Bird" organisation, and a number of local people will be engaged foi' the .representation, as over 150 people are actually concerned in the performance. The box plans will be '. opened at Jones'" Friday morning next at eight o'clock. Children will be admitted at half price.
The usual weekly rehearsal for "The Geisha" choruses will be held at the As_ sembly Rooms to-night at 7-15.
