A second offending inebriate named Andrew Beatson -was fined £1 at the Magistrate's Court yesterday morning.

We have been asked to state that the 'Plunket Nurse will ;be in attendance at the Church of England Schoolroom at Wanganui East this (Thursday) afternoon, and on every alternate Thursday afternoon, instead of at tho Town Hall as previously. On Friday she may be consulted in her rooms in town at the usual hours, and on Monday she will attend at Gonville. From and after Monday the nurse may ba consulted at the times and places advertised previously.
As a motor-car was crossing the bridge yesterday afternoon and turning on to the roacT, a_ cart laden with long ladders approached. The bri-Jpe entrance was practically blook-jd. juid before the car could be pulled up a ccllision occurred. A long ladder crushed into the wind-screen, and, by good luck, the ladder snappeS off shoVt. Ihe glass was, of cours.&, shattered to rweces. Had the ladder not broken, the consequences might have .been senoas for the occupants of car, Mr. and «;['«. Adrian Higgie, Miss Bi-yce, and Mr. Kellick. As it was, Mr. Higgie had his hands badly cut, .and Mrs. Higgie sustained a very severe shock.
