GUVTON STREET—fiVENUE CORNER. : From time to time,' as tho town continues to grow, and as accidents of a more or less serious nature occur in the above-mentioned locality, attention is called to the necessity of having more ground added to tho corner, thus allowing more room for tho vdhicuiar traffic to operate. Some -time back it was proposed that an octagon should bo 7nade there, but the proposal seems to have lapsed. At the present time, tlie tramway service always makes the corner present a busy appearance, seeing that at this point cars diverge ■for three different routes. But when there is an event of importance being held an the racecourse, such as a show, fete, or a race meeting, the need for grfeater space at .the corner is fully borne in upon oven tho most casual observer. Cabs, traps, gigs, motorcars, and tramway cars como along Guyton Street, and practically 95 per, cent, of tho traffic swings off onto the' Avenue. This means much congested traffic, and in such a case there is always tho possibility of an 'accident
