("Dnited Press Association.—Copyright.) Received 9.15 p.m., Jan. 29. PITTSBURG, Jan. 29. Tho American Steel Wire Company strikers attacked the police. Several strikers were killed, and many injured. The streets were impassable with riotous crowds. •The battle lasted hours. There was much revolver firing. The Sheriffs finally retreated, leaving tho strikers to harangue. A halt was made through the night, but a resumption of the trouble is feared. The militia have been ordered out.
