SHADOWED BY DETECTIVES.
MINISTERS' LIVES IN DANGER
THREATENED BY SUFFRA-
GETTES
(Sydney "Sun's" Special Service.)
LONDON, January 20. With threats of assassination hanging over their heads, the lot of Cabinet Ministers is not to be envied just now.
It is the suffragettes by whom the members of the Government are menaced, and so seriously are the threats regarded that precautions of a most exceptional character are being taken •by Scotland Yard to ensure the safety of Ministers, every one of whom is being shadowed by dectives night and day. A leading suffragette declares that what hss already occurred in the way of scte of violence is child's play compared with what is coming. " In the olden days," remarked this militant lady. " when wax was imminent, beacons blazed in ©very shire. Nexb week the signal will be given in every city and town."
