Canterbury, average price 4 7-Bd., North Island 4|d., Argentine 4 3-Bd., Australian Aid. Lamb.—Market firm, with good demand for all qualities. Canterbury, average price sfd., other qualities 5 5-Bd., Argentien 5 3-Bd., Australian 5 3-Bd.
Beef.—Market firm, with' hardening tendency. N.Z. hinds, ?.ve-rage price 3|d., fores 3|d.
Butter.—Market quiet, with tendency in favour -of buyers. The Xmas demand has ceased, and trade will be quiet until after the holidays. New Zealand first grade 116s. to 1245., Australian 1155., Argentine 1155./ Siberian 110s.', Danish 131s. ■./■■.■
Cheese.—Market quiet, •with little doing, but & good feeling prevails. New Zealand white 615., coloured 625. Hemp.—Market steady and prices well maintained. A fair demand continues. Good fair £33, fair grade £31 10s-;-for any position; Manila, fair current £33 ; forward shipment, £34 10s. The output from Manila for the week was 18,----000 bales. : ,
