The principal reasons are hu's denunciation of the referendum, and the offence given the Labour Unions by iiii-s administration of the industrial law, including' his recent refusal p the Labour Council's request to eliminate the penal clauses in the Industrial Ar-I-irip.tion Act, and to guarantee abso;nte preference to/unionists. Tho Trade1? Council has intimated to Mr Ueoby that, should he obtain the L'll.ou'i nomination next election, the contra! executive will mot endorse his M'Uiii'iation.
