WANGANUI AGRICULTURAL ASSOCIATION.

The usual meeting of the committee of the Wanganui Agricultural Association was held in the secretary's office yesterday afternoon. The President (Mr F. iMoore) 'presided over si good •attendance..

The following new members were elected : Messrs AY. J. Simpson, T. W. Lonsdale, E. Tomlin, David Dunbar, V. Cripps, R. Saunders, S. W. Wilson, George Sharman, C. K. Knutison, G. A. Leigh, F. S. Smith, James Grant, H. Inman, H. E. Broughton, Peter Nelson, W. S. Poole, T. Bains. N. M. Pater&M, B. Garrett, A. J. Hadfield, J. Leonard, E. Tomlin, J. H. McLean, G. W. Hean, R. Gaisford, H. G. Lewis, W. J. Simpson, and Frank Besiey; junior imember, ltobei^j Pake!; life member, H. A. Tamumu.

The Garden Fete Committee was granted the us© of the industries ehed on the usual conditions. .• A suggestion from Mr Grant that the boys of the rural classes at the Technical College should be addressed by the judges of the cattle' clasps was not entertained by the committee.

The next committee meeting was fixed for Monday evening next.

Members whese subscriptions have been in arrear for more than two years are to be written to and asked that the arrears be paid up.

The handsome trophy (-a silver cup) presented to the association by the Licensed Victuallers' Association . was placed before the meeting, and general approbation of the handsome gift was exnressed by the members.

Votes of thanks were passed to Messrs Wylie and F. Mooore for the use of a sheep and 'bullock respectively for the weight judging.

Owing to the insufficient number, of entries for the shearing competition,' it was decided to abandon the competition.
