CITY BAND BAZAAR.
Tho spectacular display which- is to bo produced by Professor Cardston in connection with, the 'City Band Bazaar is very fascinating. The following is a synopsis :—The Mikado Entertainers. fho sceno opens in a German doll factory, where woo dolls, just made and freshly painted, are ready to be sold, when four Japanese maidens enter and ask to be-ehown a, doll dance. On completiny they beg to fio allowed to take tho dolls to Japan, and the request is granted. Tho scene is changed to a street in Japan, Japanese children everywhere dancing and singing. An Engisli gentleman entei-s. having fallen in love with the daughter of tho English l/'onsul. whom ho stops while on her way to tho Mikado's palace. Sho accepts his advances, dances and sings to h'm White plighting his troth, a band of Russian Pierrots enters, and a mixed flirtation 3S indulged in amongst themselves. On their exit ; a party of Irish -washerwomen arrivo to wash for the Mikado. I hey fleo.-m terror at the sight of the Imperial Majesty's band of Malay entertainers, their weird costumes 'being ml 0 mucn *or tne poor washerwomen" Ihe 'Mikado's ballet dancers from En«--b.nd arrive to amuse him. till they rouse his anger r.nd aro dismissed nn'cT tho curtains falls o'er a, happy band of skaters. Sceno ll.—ln an English nobleman's mansion, lordsl. >and ladies are arriviurr to attend .?. charity fete. They dance an old E'iglish sravotte, till the" strains m a singer well known as the Waltz Dream, aro heard. Her near approach to tho mansion arouses tho anger of m lord's guests till her actual raresenco in tho ballroom causes the lords and Miesio leave in disgust and confusion. Tho Waltz Dream advance? and with her fascinating 'powers makes m'lord danco tho waltz dream with' her. -On conclusion the fete ii continued, shepherds from Switzerland, sash sprays from Norway, take part, till t!he grand fmalo is reached, when the final march of tho fete is concluded. ,and the curtain faMs on a grand tableau.
