THE FINAL GALLOPS

Allegory, Vice-Admiral and Canute were sent a mile and a half on the plough, Allegory beating Vice-Admiral by four lengths in. 2.40, the first six furlongs being covered in 1.18 1-5. The j favourite finished impressively. Masterpiece beat Autumnus over ten , furlongs in 2.11 1-5, the Cup horse ! going well. j Obligant, alone, ran ten furlongs in I 2.14 1-5, Odessa taking 2.14. Ermengardo and Crown Pearl were together at the end of six furlongs in l.iv. which both could have bettered. Bronze, going nicely, went a medium circuit, brushing over tho last four furlongs in 51. Lad" Lucy ran ten furlongs in 2.13, finishing really well. Bobrikoff beat Diavolo over 5 furlongs in 1.4. Heatherbrae ran six furlongs f a standing start in i.17. Winning Way I beat ISightwatch over four furioii tho grass in 49 2-5. Sinapis, IV'night Sun, and Goldiinder ran a mile and a quarter, finishing in that order. Goldnmier tailing off, . tho time being 2.12 1.5. A very largo contingent were exercised -after breakfast. Soldiers' Chorus was sent a mile from a racing start in 1.43, finie-hinor well. Stepmaid went half a mile in 50. The two-year-olds were worked on the courso proper. Zeus beat Cherubini, ' Historictte, Garance, Whizz and Tiptop in that order, over half a mile an 49 3.5. Culture boat Counsel and Bon Bouehe in 49A. Ozicr, Salzburg, and M-antd finished level in 50 2-5. Flora Mac Donald and Immer covered half a mile in 50 3-5. These were thel best of tho performanrr.B, but a number of youngsters did not do fast work.
