Mr A. S. M. Poison, headmaster of the Napier Boys' High School, ha 3 been offered the prinoipalship of the isallarat College, Victoria. As the position is one of considerable importance, he has decided to accept it, ,amd will leave Napier lat the end of the year.
Cabled news has been received of the death of Mr George Kilner, who wias some 14 or 15 years ago a&sociatod with Messrs Collier and Company'is piano business in New Plymouth. The late Mr kilner, who had occupied a responsible position .in Melbourne for some years, wias pre-de^ceased by his w7te> about a year ago. Ho leaves a family of four.
Another old resident of Wianganui in the person of Mrs Ellen Carmody has passed away. She had' been 48 years in the Dominion, and had been a resident in Wanganui for the past 38 yeans. She is survived by one daughter, Sister Chanel, of the local Sacred Heart Convent, and one son, Mr. J. Carmody, to both of whom wo tender our sympathy.
