CONFERENCE AT AUCKLAND.
(Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Oct. 30
The adjourned conference of the Auckland Furniture Trades Industrial Union of Employers and the Union of Workers took place-in the Commissioner's room to-day. The question of the extension of the Wellington award to the Auckland district was further exhaustively discussed, and the following resolutions were submitted by the employers: (1) "That, after carefully ■considering the statements made by the representatives of the Auckland Furniture Trades Union of Workers, we do nob see that by the evidence that ha 6 been adduced anything that would justify us in departing from the terms of our present award; (2) with reference to a Dominion a\vard, the employers purpose taking active steps in the near future to give this important question their full consideration." The proceedings throughout were characterised by the utmost good feeling on both sides, although no settlement of the points at issue was. arrived at.
