The Hon. A. Griffith , has taken prompt action in regard to Mr Hay's report on the city railways and bridge scheme, and a sum has been placed on the Estimates, so that the preliminary work will be started as soon as Parliament approves. The Lord Mayor regards the scheme as an' excellent one.

The Country Press Association passed a resolution emphatically protesting against the signed articles and reports relating to Federal election matters.
