IMPORTANT INDUSTRIAL CONCERN.
MARTON SASH AND DOOR
(From our own Correspondent.) MARTON, Oct. 25
One firm that is responsible for the employment of a good many hands is the Alar ton Sash and Door Factory, a business that, was practically established 25 years ago by the Zajonskowski brothers The foundation of a prosperous business was then laid, and about five years ago that firm's interests were acquired by the Marton Sash and Door Co., under who r manrtirenont k> business has increased considerably. The manufacture of joinery is a special feature, and quite a large number of machines have been installed, which make the plant one of the best equipped aiuT nrcist complete in the district. A visit to the factory in Wellington Hi.. Marton, shows tho various stages and processes adopted, from the initial treatment of the rough timber until the articles are turned out in a finished state. The timber embraces the very best and most useful kinds used for general building and joinery purposes, and the heavy stock continually kept in the yards ensures customers getting the very best seasoned timber. Two engines, including a 70 horse-power suction gas plant, are used to drive the machinery employed, and there is no doubt whatever that with a few more industries in the town, and run on the same businesslike lines as the Marton Sash and Door, the position of Marton as «i commercial find industrial centre would be considerably enhanced. The company" also stocks hardware and builders' requisites; in fact, every provisTbn Has been made for the requirements of a large and thriving district.
