Tho cyclone has passed eastward of East Cape, and been neutralised to a certain extent by the advent of a westerly low pressure, which has enveloped the South Island to-day. Strong southerly winds have predominated. Present indications are for westerly to south-westerly winds, strong to gale, with cold and showery weather and hail squalls probable in the south, and snow on the higher levels. The barometer is very unsteady, and a further fall in tho south is likely to take place before a decided riso is experienced.
