(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, October 24. Tho Council met at 2-30 p.m. Amendments made by the House in tho Births and Deaths Registration. Bill were agreed to. In the Committee on the Defence Amendment Bill, in sub-section 2, clause 64, providing for the exemption from military service on the ground of religious beliei, the words "contrary to doctrines of his religion" were altered to " contrary to his religious belief." On tho motion of the Minister, the Bill was reported with amendments. The Widows' Pensions Bill was reported with technical amendments. Tho Council rose.
