(United Press As-nr-intion. —Copyright.) LONDON, October 23. Tho Imperial Maritime League has protested against the Government's reported intention to send to the Mediterranean eight battleships, composing the third battle squadron of the first fleet, "leaving 11s in -absolute inferiority in Homo waters should tho German navy exercise tho initiative." The League adds:—"Allowing tho admitted necosI sity to deduct twenty-five per cent. • from the instantly ready fleet, at Germany's selected, and at our average moment, we wiJl be unable, after tho despatch of tho third squadron, to confront Germany's twenty-five battle vessel-! with more than nineteen, and in fully manned destroyers ready for war, allowing tho same deduction, we are fiftv-ono to German's sixty-six. Britain was never in such a plight for centuries "
