BIG ORDER FOR AUCKLAND EXHIBITION .
HEAVY DEMAND AT WANGANUI

MARTON, Oct. 24. As stated in the "Chronicle" today1, tho timber industry of the Main Trunk is showing considerable activitA r, and in further conversation with a representative of the Rangitikei SawMillers' Association, I ascertained that the prospects for the .next six months aro very bright indeed; in fact, the mills have some .very big orders to complete, one being in connection with the Auckland Exhibition, concerning which an order has been received for over a million feet. The Continued ■heavy demand coming from the Wanganui district is also having an effect upon stocks, and generally speaking, tho timber industry has brightened up very considerably, and the outlook has never been brighter. Tt may be stated "thaffc [four mills will bo employed in fulfilling the Exhibition order, and it is anticipated that tho million feet will bo cut up in two months' time.
