In consequence of butchers' refusal to sell Russian meat imported by the municipality, infuriated women stormed tho stalls, trampled tho meat underfoot, and flung sausages at the butchers. Tho police cleared the markets, and the women then looted the neighbouring shops. The butchers allege that the profits ?ro inadequate. The municipalies estimate that they make 40s. on an ox and 16s. on a pig.
