PERCIVAL'S PICTURES

TO-NIGHT'S GREAT "DRAWS."

Pcrcival's Proprietary have- a splendid "bill of fare" to present before their patrons to-night, and there is certain to bo splendid business reported. First and foremost comes the second edition of tho "Chronicle," which is going to advertise tho attractions of Wanganui and its general progress in-a more "practical way than has been tho case for a long time past. T^e first edition created quite a furore here, but not only here, for it received the greatest of praise from Wellingtonians, who crowded the Emm-ess Theatre last week. The second edition, which was run off last evening for p. private view, is a splendid one indeed. The 600 feet of film is used to the greatest advantage. It opens with a splendid panoramic view of the opening; of tho cricket season on "Cook's." Then follow an interesting series of views depicting the opening'of the bowling season at Gonville, in which we see somo well-known townsmen getting their "eyes" in. Another view taken in tho vicinity of Gonville shows a creditable turn-out by the suburban Fire Brigade. In another portion the openmo; of the tramway service to the beach is depicted, giving; incidentally some good views of tho Kiosk and the breakers. The comic element is well supplied by the opening of tho rowing season, fhis part shows the procession of rowers, and later on some amusing watertilting. riding the greasy boom. etc.. etc. The latter part of tho picture is given up to a series of views on the imper reaches of our beautiful river. TlKf film is tinted, and some really beautiful effects arc tho result. The fernclad hills -are seen to splendid advantage as the vessel threads her way between tho steep banks. The picture concludes with somo lovely views of the Ohura Falls. Altogether it is a product'on well worth going a long way to see Tho "star"- film "Tho MidmVtit Werll ding," will bo shown for the first time, together with on© of Percival's best picture programmes. Booking was brisk yesterday morning both for to-night and for Monday nieht, when Dante's "Inferno" is to bo shown.
