PAINFUL MISHAP AT KAWHATAU
BURSTING OF A TREACLE CAN
Mr R. Galbraith, of Upper Kawhatau, met with a painful accident recently, He was boiling 6ome water in a treacle can, when the tin burst and splashed the boiling contents into hjs face, causing a number of very painful wounds and endangering the sight of one eve.
Whilst bushfelling on Mr H. Tyler's property at Kaitieke a young man named Haycock was struck on the foot by a falling limb, sustaining somewhat severe injuries. The sufferer was sent to Taumarunui for medical attention, and from thence was sent to the Hamilton hospital.
A man named Buchan, in the employ of Messrs Kennedy and Patten, Ruatiti, was cut with an axe whilst bushfelling.
R. McFarlane, an employee at Wilson's mill, Horopito, had his leg badly cut by the breaking-down saw. No time was lost in taking tho injured man to Raetihi, where he was attended by Dr Owon, and is now progressing favourably.
