FLOODING THE MINE

HOBART, October 23
A conference of the Mount LyeM directors and mining inspectors decided that tho only way to check the fire was to flood the mine. A stream to be deflected to pour in 138,000 gallons daily. It is anticipated a similar quantity will peroolata from the bottom levels. Brattices are being placed in the outlets, practically sealing the mint*. The relatives of the missing left in are to be advised when the bodies are recovered.
