WEATHER REPORT.

WELLINGTON, Oct. 23. Cold and showery weather has prevailed, with moderate to strong and squally southerly and easterly winds. The barometer has fallen to-day. Present indications are for'cloudy and misty weather, squally and showery in most parts, but heavy rain is probable m tho east coast districts, especially of the North Island, where the conditions at present are somewhat threatening. Variable winds are to be expected, with south-easterly strong to gaio prevailing, the barometer falling at present, but rising shortly in the northern districts.
