GAS COMMITTEE.

Tho report of the Gas Committee 18th October, 1(J12, was as follows:

Re Coal Conveyors.—That the Council inform Mr Martin that it has no objection to him bringing before the Railway Department the matter of that Department using the Council's con vevors for its own nurnoses.

Re Agreement for the supply of da. J to Gonville. —The committe has authorised tho Mayor and chairman to 'ntei. view the solicitor and to arrange I'oi arc-casting of Clause 8.

Weights for testing Automatic Weighing Machines. —The manager I'as been authorised to ascertain if he ran procure these., and at what cost. Order for Fittings.—The committee has endorsed the chairman's action authorising an order for a supply of fittings. TR AM WAY COMMITTEE. The report of the Tramway CommiL-

Ho application from Dentists for oi^ctrie power.—The committee recommend that the applicants be informed that the proposed destructor loan makes precision for the supply of electric power. Re Gonville-Castleclilf Tramway agreement. —The Town Clerk reported having, in company with the tramway engineer, interviewed the Board and arrangeuThat the "through" tickets mentioned" in the agreement, be issued on the 2nu and 3rd and the Bth and 9th sections of the combined tramways, and that the revenue from the sale of such, tickets be apportioned at o^d and oj'.i for each Is. to the Borough and the Board respectively, such apportionment being on the basis of the average lengtii of track within each district. The committee recommend that this be confirmed. RESERVES COMMITTEE. The report of the Reserves Comtivttco. 18th Octoner, 1912, was as follows : lie Assignment Kurt-h to Philpctt.— I 1 ho committee recommend the Council not to conseiil to this assignment until the borough engineer has certified that tho building is being erected in accordance with the by-laws and the covenants of the lease.

Me-j'li.— We recommend that Mr. Meuh be permitted to fence off one-half of tho footway fronting His Majesty's Ir.catre, on ennditon that any damageto tju> footway be made good, and tliat Ivo be allowed to use a portion of the Domain, to be assigned bY the enginer at a rental of £5, -and" to leave the ground _in good order. Iho -report of the Tramway Committee of-tho. 19th October, 1912, was as follows:—

After m.i - ing an inspection, the committee autminsod tho chairman nud the engineer to conior with the Borough Solicitor on any matters arising out of the result of or in connection with such accident. FINANCE COMMITTEE. 1 he report of the Finance Committee 2.lst October, 1912, was as follows: Re 1 ayment of Rates for the current year.—We have directed the Town Clerk to advertise forthwith that all rates for the current year now past due must be paid on or before Monday tho 28th mst., otherwise the Council will take proceedings for the recovery of .-tie same.
