The bowling season promises to be very successful at Marion, and with such an energetic secretary jjts Mr. W. Minniss, it could not fail to be otherwise. He is life and soul £o the Society, find he is so brimming over with enthusiasm that other members have been well baptised with the same spirit. Twenty-four new members Have so fur be«n enrolled this season, with several more prospective, so that the Marion Club will be able this season to provide some first-class rinks. The club hopes to play Wanganui, St. John's, Gonville, Hunterville, Palmerston, and Feilding, and two specially important trophies they are after, and hope to remove the home of them to Mafton, 'namely, tho Keesing and Dixon Cups.

The cribbage tournament for a handsome five-guinea cup dontated to the Druids' Lodge by Mr. Pedersen prior to his departure for the Old Country has now been proceeding for six months., and so far no member has had mo*e than threo wins.
