AUCKLAND, Oct. 22

Tho "Herald's" snoci-al reporter at Huntly telegraphs to the effect that tho suspense is telling on a certain section of tho idle miners. Up to the present tho men have been most orderly, mis afternoon a pressman was walking inoffensively along the main road, and pausing in front of the executive's offico to ascertain if any messages were posted up. With that he made for tho pressman with clenched hands. but was prevented from reaching the objoc-t of his wrath by tho union secretary, and others, while tho pressman slowly walked away. Early in the afternoon the arbitration advocate was interfered with, one j cf the strikers catching him by the coat and others endeavouring to jostle him. On this occasion the secretary also interfered.

A movement in favour of a now union ;s growing apace.
