WANGANUI AGRICULTURAL SHOW

Judging by the number of inquiries coming daily from all quarters for programmes of the forthcoming Wanganui Show, there is every indication that ther will be a large number of new exhibitors .ttifs year. No doubt the many valuable .specials will bo keenly competed for. In, the live stock sections there will be nojless than 12 sterling silver cups to be won outright, whilst there are three challenge cups, two of which have only, to bo won this year by the present holders to become their absolute property. In additon to this, the North Island Draught Horse Challenge Shields, which are to be competed for for the. first time this year, will cause a big stir in the draught horse section, lhese are very handsome trophies, the one for horses being values at 35 gns., and that for mares at 25 gns. Mr. Nash's silver cup, donated as a mints prize in .the home industries classes, should attract »a lot of- competition, while the, photographic classes should provoke keen rivalry. The dog section promises to beat all previous records. The very valuable list of specials offered by the British Bulldog Club, on" of which is valued at 65 gns., should ensure a record show of bulldogs. Mrs S. Johnson, who is very popular with the fancy, is to make the awards in this class.- The other judges will be: Messrs S. Johnson, H. Smith and R. H. Sheppard. Entries close on the 30th inst. 'Lhose wanting schedules or other information should write to the secretary at once.
