The Mnrton Jockey Club has made rapid strides recently, and its race meetings are being looked forward to with as much pleasurable interest by sports as any other on the coast. Indeed in some instances it can now hold its own with tho most important, and tho reason is because of tho big stakos offered, and the quality of horse it attracts. Tho committee met at Marton last night and considered tho pro- £ ram mo for tho forthcoming meeting. The stakes aggregate £2,500, and every effort is being mado by secretary and officers to ensure a record gathering.
