SYDNEY, Octo?>er 8
Arrived. —Dick Arnst and his wife arc passengers by the Marmora, which arrived to-day. Arnst has no excuses to offer for his defeat. 'He merely states that tho best man won. "People did not believe me when I said tho race on tho Zambesi was the hardest in my career," said Arnst.. "Tho water on tho Thames was rougher than the Zambesi, and Barry was more accustomed thereto." Arnst is not keen on Penrce's chances. He states that he has finished sculling, and intends to settle on the land in New South Wales.
