Goods Shod Hours.—The Wellington "Chamber of Commerce wrote with reference to.-the local Chamber's overtures in connection with tho hours for closing »t the froods-^bed. stating that the matter had been discussed, but no action •had been taken pending further inquiry. Tho Dunedin and Waihi Chambers wrotoner~?p-insr to co-operate. The Tnyercargill Chamber advised that it waa quite satisfied with existing; condition's.—Th<* letters wero received. B->^on Congress.—-Mr. L. E. Bassebt notified his of the Chamber's invitation to represent the Chamber at. the Boston Congress.—Received. • Changing Names.—The Borough Council wrote agreeing to co-operate "with the Chamber in getting tho names of F»a«t-own and A.Tamoho railway stations changed to Wanganui Easib and W«ngan*zi Juffctidn.—lt was decided that the letter Jbe sent on to the Mini iater of Railways, a motion by Mr. Hjorna that Wanganui should be called wanganai City being lost. . ■;- ■ Wanganui-Ra-etihi TeleDfeone.—The Minister wrote on Sept. 7th stating thai *he work on the line would be resumed at the beginning ©f the month, Imnerial Trade Commission.-4-A le.tr. River Bajik Boad.^-Mrt* G-^<^r©^-or wrote urging the.VCoundlcto agitate for the construction of. the River Bank iioad 7rom (fcfatahrwi to the PipirikiBaetihi Road.—Mr. Allen said " the Wanganui .County: Council had the matter in hand, and the following, * moved "hy him. wm-oarried:-—"Th^t this Chamber heartily supports the Wanganui County Council in its efforts to secure a substaTitial grant -for the construction of the Wanganui River Bank Road left and its delegates be instructed, to interview the Minister when in We-!!-' ington this week."
Harbour Bill.—Mr. 0- A. Wilkinson, M.P., thanked the OhamTber for oonigratulations on iis.flection. As to the Harbotir Rill, he woiild give the mat--I>er careful atteiition when in Welling■fcon. and noted the point made in regard to the people settling the question by poll. On the suggestion of the President Messrs. G. Caiman and F. H. A¥len were deputed to represent the Chamber before the Local "Bills Committee.
