A MINER'S DEATH.
(Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, May 12. Tho inquiry into the circumstances surrounding th c death of Simon Weatherall, a miner, who was injured inCVaigs coal-inino at Roxburglt on the3rd inst., and who died in the hospital on rfcho 6th as a result of tho injuries was resumed yesterday, before Mr. Graham, Coroner. After reviewing theevidence, the Coroner said thai the injuries had been received by deceased'shead coming into contact with the roof" of tjhe tunnel. He1 would /record it verdict that death was due to lasphvxiaeaused. by dislocation of the spine' received whilo riding on a truck in the mine; and h G added, "contrary--to Government regulations." It wiaV ft case of the old saying repeating itself, "that accidents would occur."
