RESULTS OF THE RELIABILITY TRIALS AT CHRISTCHURCH. Principal interest in the Canterbury Automobile Association's reliability trial on Friday and Saturday last, centred in the performance of the four Silent Knight Minerva cars. The trial was th© first in New Zealand in xvhich cars equipped with the famous Knight sleeve valve engine were entered. Everybody knows that the Knight engine makes an absolutely silent running car, but its reliability, efficiency and petrol economy had not hitherto been demonstrated in competitions ngainst the oldfashioned tappet valve engines in this country. The result of the trial was the complete vindication of all claim* made on behalf of the Silent Knight Minevra car. Every one of the four ears entered made a non-stop run, and the winnings of the team included the 100 guinea Star cup, a £30 trophy given by the Association, three gold medals and a silver medal. Tn the private owners class, in which there were eighteen entries, Mr N. C. Gilchrist, driving a 26-h.p. Minerva, won first prize in the class, the Star Silver Cup, awarded for the best record for reliability and economy of petrol, and a gold medal for a non-stop tuti. Gold medals were also won by Mrs R. A. Green with second lowest petrol consnmntion (26-h.p. Minerw), and Mr R. O. Dixon Cl6-h.n. Minerva), Messrs Adams Ltd.'a 16-h.n. Minerva gained a silver medal nnd mode a non-ston run in the trade class. The success of the Minerva in the hands of private owners demonstrated that the car does not depend on export handling to socurn in competition the most important prizes. nnd proved that the Silent Knight engine is not only reliable but most economical on the consumption of netrol. Minerva, cars are sold at the English pnVfvq. plus actual cost of importation. rni\ we ran give immediate delivery fB«n) stock of cars, which are admitted t« ie the best, in the whole world. \<fara* Ltd..
