At my Stratford .sale at Stratford yards there was a good attendance of buyers and a very big yarding, all pens being well filled. A good number of 20 months and 2^, years steers were yarded, the better quality cattle being sold. Any good-conditioned cows sold well, especially some fine heavy fats. Springing cows and springing calvcrs were in demand, those yarded being .sold after keen competition. A pen of Grade Holstein weaner heifers on account of a Gordon Road client realised ■L 2 os. Other prices were: Weaner mixed £1 Is Gel to £1 10s a poorer 12s to los, weaner steers £1 to £1 13s, poor lls, weaner heifers, grade Holstcins £2 os, grade Jerseys £1 lls to £2 Is 6d, grades £1 2s to £1 7s 6(1, coloured 15 months steers £1 lls, IS months heifers £2 10s to £3 os-6d, 18 months steers £3 2.s 6d to £3 7s 6d, poor £2 I.os Gd, 21 year steers £4 2s to £4 7s Gd, cows and calves £3 10s, heifers (calved) £o 17s Gd, store cows £2 2s to £3 9s, forward cows £3 18s to £4 9s Gd, cows in calf £3 2s Gd to £4 13s, fat cowes, heavy, £o 9s to £6 2s, good £4 lGs to Co Gs, springing cows £G 7s Gd to £7 12s Gd. bulls, shorthorn £6, others £2 4s to £4 17s, Limbs Gs 7d +o 6s Bd.
